Nacra 17 project

One of our most exciting and challenging projects was making a Nacra17 catamaran suitable for flight, in winged sailboat mode.

The basic Nacra17 is factory-equipped with a so-called C-svert, which provides stability for the boat. Later, the manufacturer started producing the foil version instead of the C-svert, which is a very expensive component. Our client's idea was to try to equip the existing C-svert with wings.

We made the first version in 2020. We tried to find the ideal angle, shape and wing profile on a test model with a variable angle of attack. Unfortunately, it broke after a few flights, but we were able to gather enough information to continue.

Using the experience we gained, the second version is currently being prepared. We have completely abandoned traditional manufacturing methods, CAD design, 3D printing and prepreg technology guarantee accuracy and quality.
